Jim Norris, M.Div, LMFT
ACPE Psychotherapist
Spiritual Director
Through my calm, caring presence and a warm, inviting physical space, I provide a safe emotional space where you can bring whatever issues are presenting you from living a life of emotional and spiritual wholeness. You will experience acceptance, understanding and compassion which provide a solid foundation of trust for the therapeutic process of healing, growth and transformation.
I am a senior therapist with 25 years of full time and 7 years of part-time experience. My therapy is an integration of depth psychotherapy, family systems theory, and contemplative spirituality.
My initial training was in pastoral counseling/psychotherapy and marriage and family therapy. I began studying Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) in 2008 and completed the IFS level 1 training program in 2011. I have engaged in numerous continuing education programs in IFS over the years and am drawn to it as a primary modality for healing and transformation. It is a non-pathologizing modality whose core belief is that everyone has an innate resource for healing within them. The primary role of the therapist is to facilitate access to the client’s True Self which is the resource for healing parts which have become extreme, burdened and sometimes exiled. I also incorporate Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness and Contemplative practices to enhance healing and transformation. It is a privilege and blessing to be a therapist and to make a difference in the lives of my clients. If you feel led to this journey, please give me a call and set up an initial appointment.
